The Wanderbird is a 90’ long steel-hulled trawler originally designed for fishing in the North Sea. Built in 1963 in Holland, she was converted to pleasure use in 1990. Powered by a single 510 HP diesel, range is an eye-popping 6,000 miles. Cruising speed is 7.5 knots, maximum is 10 knots, and the boat has an auxiliary ketch sailing rig. Important equipment includes three generators, a 1600 watt inverter, complete electronics and safety gear (including two life boats), and a rocket-propelled line-launcher. Accommodations feature six cabins with private heads and hand-made quilts and rugs. The Wanderbird is currently berthed in Everett, MA.
She arrived in Gloucester in 2020 and has since been neglected so is in a project state so is being offered at auction as is where is.
